Monsoon at Kerala is very famous. Google for monsoon and Kerala, you can find a lot of beautiful pictures. Still monsoon is not as enjoyable for a few.

Alumni - AHS 1990 batch

After 20 years, batch mates of 1990 united at their school. Officially the function was supposed to start by 10am and most of them were punctual. We got around 30 (or more) old students by 11:30am. A few of our respected teachers also came to bless the function.

Alumi meet started with a silent prayer for our friends who are no more with us - Jiju Thomas, Manoj G, Vidya and Satya Narayanan.

Followed to the welcome speech, Gopalakrishnan Sir told us about the current situation of our school. By next year school may have end of life. If nobody come to take over the school, Ambalamedu High School will be in our memories and records only.

Then other teachers also shared their memories and blessed the gathering.

Later each of us gave a formal introduction. I am waiting for the full list of participants and photos of the function from the organizers. I hope I can get in few days.

For few hours each of us became 20 years younger. After lunch we all dispersed back to our busy life agreeing to meet again in August 2010.

Ubuntu 9.10 on Lenovo g450

For almost 25 months I was not even touching a Linux box. When I got a Lenovo g450 laptop at work, I thought of trying GNU on this box. I am always inclined for Debian. So I choose to try Ubuntu latest version Ubuntu 9.10 - the Karmic Koala - released in October 2009. Installation was very simple. The only hardware that was not detected by default was Wireless Lan card.

03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN (rev 01)

I ran System -> Administration -> Hardware drivers. That detected the correct driver for the wireless lan card.

Once again I am back to the Unix/Linux world. The only issue I am facing is that WPA is not supported in the Linux driver.

Alvida Hyderabad

It's time to say Alvida to Hyderabad. After 25 months of stay in Hyderabad, with lots of good and bad experiences, it’s time to move on…

The only thing that is constant is *change* - Heraclitus.

Changes are happening in my life again. As always I am embracing this change also wholeheartedly. I believe it’s beyond our control. There is *somebody* who set our path and our job is just to move on…destiny is always decided. If you tell in engineering terms, it’s pre-programmed.

I liked Hyderabad for these reasons –
Good weather (80% of the time its winter) if you leave the 2 months hot summer.
Availability and quality of drinking water is good.
It’s gifted with natural beauty and has lot of monuments.

Happy Week

This week is of achievements -

Sunday I did my 1st professional certification - Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrator (BCCPA), v.3.0.3. It was a 4 hours exam.

Tuesday, my MBA (majoring Information Technology) results were published. I scored a 1st class in university exams.

So as my best friend Anoop told me, the tail has grown a lot :) Dileep Kumar M, MBA-IT, BCA, DECE, BCCPA.... what next ?

Forming new team

Bank is forming a new team for production support. I am moving to that team. So changes are happening to my job profile again. It's good to learn new things daily. The new profile demand to have knowledge on Checkpoint Firewall and Siteminder technologies also. The training is scheduled for coming weeks.
